AI phone receptionist

Answer every call 24/7 — the agent greets callers, answers questions from your knowledge, and books appointments automatically.

What you’ll build: a phone agent that picks up, answers from your business info, and books a slot on your calendar.

Create the agent

Follow the Quickstart to create an agent with a greeting and a short prompt (e.g. “You’re the receptionist for Bright Smile Dental. Be warm and brief. Answer questions and book appointments.”).

Add your knowledge

Open the agent → Knowledge, and upload what it should know — a PDF, a web page URL, or pasted text (services, hours, pricing, insurance, FAQs). The agent answers only from this, so it won’t make things up.

Small knowledge bases are loaded whole into the agent, so it always has 100% of the facts — no “I couldn’t find that.”

Let it book appointments

  1. Go to Dashboard → Integrations and connect Cal.com.
  2. Open the agent → Actions → add a Booking action and choose your event type.

Now the agent can check real availability and book on the call.

Attach a phone number

Dashboard → Phone numbers → get a number and assign it to this agent.

Take a test call

Call the number. The agent should greet you, answer a question from your knowledge, and offer to book.

✅ Result

A receptionist that never misses a call, answers accurately from your docs, and fills your calendar — with every call logged in Call history (and recorded, if you enable it on the agent).
